Home raising planned for July
May 1, 2012 - Rob Weaver
Among the many interesting programs and fundraisers mentioned during the Seneca County Community Council meeting today at Allen Eiry Senior Center was one involving Seneca Habitat for Humanity.
Joe Swora, the Habitat affiliate’s executive director, announced the local group is planning something he called a “blitz build” the weekend of July 21-22. An entire house is to be constructed on Third Avenue. The goal is to complete the project in 16 hours.
It sounds a lot like the Home Builders Blitz the national organization plans for June, which has a goal of building 200 homes in five days.
The actual name of the local effort could change between now and then, and we’ll keep readers informed about the plans and how to help.
