TU men vs. Michigan Tech
December 15, 2012 - Zach Baker
The Dragons are missing shot after shot. The Huskies are hitting, especially from deep, and lead, 25-12 with 9:07 left in the first half.
Tiffin has scored two points in the last 12 minutes, and the Huskies just aren't missing. They lead 31-12 with 7:08 left.
Joe Graessle has made two free throws and a jumper to end Tiffin's scoreless streak. Michigan Tech leads 31-16 behind 12 points from Phil Rombach.
Tiffin is just not hitting open shots. Joe Graessle has 10, but has been kept on the bench for much of the first half because of 2 fouls. It's 35-18 Michigan Tech with a minute to go in the first half.
Someone other than Graessle has to step up if TU wants to be competitive in this game. Joe has 10, the rest of the team has eight, and TU trails 35-18 at the break.
Huskies just had about four looks at the basket before getting fouled and going to the line. Tough to make a comeback when that happens. Rombach has 15, Huskies lead 48-26.
There's no doubt Michigan Tech is a good team. But is it 33 points better than TU? Michigan Tech leads 63-30 with 9:48 left. Since the first five minutes, Dragons have had no momentum. They also are without Michael Bouley, who is on the bench in street clothes.
Dragons trail 68-43 with 4:17 left. Graessle has 21, but it's been a blowout since five minutes in.
Final Michigan Tech 75, Tiffin 55.
