Help decide whether to add cable news networks to TV grids
February 7, 2013 - Rob Weaver
A reader this week made a simple, reasonable request: Add cable news networks to the TV programming lists published daily and in the TV Update booklet.
It is possible to add Fox News, CNN and MSNBC to the TV listings provided in grid-like fashion on the comic page and TV book. But to make room, three other networks would have to be omitted.
Before doing that, we need your help.
First, should we drop three entertainment networks to free space for the cable news networks? If so, which three should we remove?
I will add polls for readers to register their views and help with this decision. I have selected networks for possible exclusion. Our polling software limits choices to eight options. I have selected eight networks that typically do not broadcast movies, because the films offered can change. Instead, I focused on networks that often broadcast TV series that are in syndication (that's a fancy way of saying “reruns.”)
The polls will be found by visiting the Opinions and Life sections of our website. If a majority of readers agree with adding the news networks, we would drop the three entertainment networks which receive the most votes. View the polls using the link provided.
Please help make this decision. Thanks!
