New gun shop coming to Tiffin

June 19, 2013 - Rob Weaver
Display cases with glass countertops are in place. Shelving is being rearranged. Stock is being shifted around.

Yep. It looks like Seneca County is getting another gun shop.

From the time it opened, Rural King has offered a variety of ammunition for sale, along with firearm storage cabinets and safes, plus an assortment of paper and reactive targets among the outdoors goods.

Handguns, rifles and shotguns are to join the product mix soon. As long as suppliers can provide wares to fill the shelves, the sporting goods department should offer a better selection than Rural King's nearest competitor, Walmart.

It'll be interesting to see how well the growing chain's buying power can stock the addition, especially when some manufacturers are struggling to keep up with demand.

As it is, I think I like shopping there as much as my dog -- who is allowed in the store, by the way.
