Welcome to the family

March 18, 2014 - Jill Gosche
The second Tiffin Police Department's citizens academy class met this evening, and six of us who graduated from last year's program were there to help welcome them. Fifteen academy students were there and introduced themselves to their classmates. There is quite a range of interests in the group, and I can tell they are going to have a wonderful class. I would like to wish all of them an experience they'll never forget. If they go into the experience open-minded and ready to learn, they will get a lot out of it. Listen and ask questions; soak in the experience. I wasn't sure what to expect when I started the program a year ago, but I can now say it was life-changing. Classmates became close friends, and we still continue to meet. Sgt. Jared Watson, who leads the program, mentioned our group being a family, and I could not agree more. I am eternally grateful for being a part of this family.
