| | H-L first half thoughtsNovember 28, 2008 - Zach BakerFirst off, I'm not at the game, but rather watching the SportsTime Ohio broadcast. It's pretty decent, although the announcers referred to the Blue Jays as "St John's Delphos" a few times. Hopewell-Loudon is losing at the half, 21-14. The bad news is that DSJ QB Wes Ulm and the Blue Jays get the ball to start the second half. The good news is H-L coach Brian Colatruglio is very good at making halftime adjustments. After all, H-L is in a much better spot at the half than one year ago. -Ulm is almost like a snake out there. I saw him play against Carey, but he's been much more explosive than I remember. There have been times where the Chieftains look to have him stopped, but he'll break a tackle and go for five more yards. - Brown is only 7 of 18 passing in the first half, a surprising number considering he completed 72 percent of his passes this year. - Should be an interesting second half. The big thing will be if H-L's defense can contain Ulm in the second half, and force him to win the game with his ar. Ulm can pass, but it's a problem if DSJ starts running with the lead.
