Walmart vs. Walmart
January 30, 2009 - Rob Weaver
I've received a few letters this month regarding Wal-Mart's policy of not matching its online prices at the store.
One reader complained of finding an item for $36.88 on the company's Web site, then finding the same item in the store for $49. The retailer, he said, would not match the online price in the local store.
The A-T's own Dennis Hoerig has a solution. Dennis said it's possible to order an item online at the lower price and have it delivered — for free — to the Tiffin store, where you can pick it up.
I haven't tried that yet — I doubt whether I could order snacks for a Super Bowl party online — but it would be convenient for me, because the store is practically next door.
So far, no one has explained why prices may vary between one Wal-Mart store and another. ...
