TU men v. Wayne State
January 28, 2010 - Zach Baker
Tiffin's defense isn't bad so far, but it still trails Wayne State 9-4. Wayne State's missing open outside shots. If it starts hitting, it could be another long night, and quick. (8:51)
-The Wayne State defense is causing all kinds of problems for the Dragons, and the Warriors have upped their lead to 19-7. On offense, if Wayne State goes inside, its gets a lyup. Go outside, and someone is wide open. Safe to say TU's zone isn't working.
TU's defense has picked up, but the offense is still struggling to finish. Travis Spahr had a look at an open shot right under the basket and missed it. Still, its 19-11 at the 4:38 mark. 19 points in 16 minutes is not bad at all.
DeAngelo Jordan just hit is patented 12-footer, his fourth of the game, and it's 19-15 with 2:52 left. Wayne State hasn't scored in forever
I'm speechless. Tiffin just hit four consecutive 3-pointers What was a 12-point deficit became a two-point lead, 27-25, after a Brian Scott 3 from the left wing.
Larry Edwards' jumper tied it with 5 seconds left in the half. After that, Scott had a heave from halfcourt that just missed. When you're hot, you're hot..
With 14:39 left in the half, TU trails, 39-31. TU's struggling on offense, while Wayne State is gobbling up board after board on both ends. Ike Udanoh has 14 points, and the Warriors have outscored the Dragons, 12-4 in the second half.
It's 27-all at the break. Fantastic defense down the stretch for TU. Jordan has made five jumpers and has 11 points.
With 9:48 left, Dragons are hanging around, trailing 46-37. Wayne State made an adjustment defensively and offensively, because not only are the Warriors breaking TU's zone defense, which they weren't doing at the end of the first half, but they are not allowing the Dragons open 3's. TU is in the two shot bonus.
At the 8:15 mark, Wayne State leads, 53-40. Dragons need to get some stops. In order to do that, they're going to have to rebound better than they have in the last few minutes. The Warriors led by 16 points moments ago.'
This one's pretty much over. 3:37 remains, TU trails, 59-44. Defense was generally good, but the offense couldn't match Wayne State's second half surge.
