Tiffin men v Hillsdale
February 25, 2010 - Zach Baker
Tiffin and Hillsdale are tied at the half, 29-29. Brian Scott has his shot working, and goes into the break with seven points. Hillsdale has actually taken 10 more shots, but has the same amount of makes as TU. The Chargers have 10 offensive boards.
Hillsdale has started the second half on a 9-1 run. The Dragons offense hasn't looked very good thus far in the second half, as they are struggling to match the energy of Hillsdale. In the last three games I have seen, TU has shown itself to be a decent first half team. After that, it's hit and miss, mostly miss I13:57).
Hillsdale's run to start the second half became 17-2. Brian Scott's three-point play was the Dragons first basket of the second half -- it came at the 10:45 mark.
With 9:36 remaining, the Chargers lead, 50-38.
Tiffin won't go away. With 4:56 remaining, Hillsdale leads, 52-47. Brandon Harris, even with four fouls, has played well for the Dragons, with eight points. Rafael Cuellar leads the Dragons with 10 points.
TU's Mike Hammonds just got called for a charge. A basket by Brent Eaton pushes the Charger lead back up to eight (3:26)
Hammonds makes a pair of foul shots ---it's 57-51 with 2:40 to go. Dragons need a stop.
Brad Guinane's layup might do it as we head towards the 2-minute mark of regulation. With 2:04 left, Mohammed Fall splits two free throws. Too late and too big a deficit to be doing that. Eaton's 3 at the 1:40 mark should seal it.
It's 62-54 Hillsdale with 1:28 left.
