Darryle Miller dies

August 16, 2010 - Zach Baker

In some very sad news, the A-T today reported the shooting death of former Tiffin University basketball player Darryle Miller, which occurred early Sunday morning.

Miller played two seasons with the Dragons, each under former coach Rodney Martin. Like most of TU's roster, he did not stay when the program was taken over by John Hill last season.

I do recall Miller having some good games with the Dragons. He was a 6-foot-6, 205-pound guard. I remember writing several times about Martin's teams that they had guys with talent, but not the experience go up against the tough teams in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference. Miller was just a sophomore in Martin's last season.

The teams struggled, and after Martin resigned, only four players — Bryan Scott, Mohammed Fall, Rafael Cuellar and Ryan Webb, stayed with the program.

This has to be very difficult news for all of TU, but especially for Miller's former teammates. My thoughts are with them, as well as Miller's family.
