This morning I did my first gardening in over four weeks, and although it was a little project, it felt so good to get my hands in the dirt again. These lily-white hands and finger nails do not belong to me!
I took a garbage bag outside on the porch, and threw away two or three annuals that were past their best, and pruned the plumbago in hopes it will revive a bit. And now an afternoon shower is helping. The grass across the street seems to be greening up already!
Yesterday was a red letter day. Some of my friends from the Seneca County Park District picked me up and took me out for lunch....the first time I left the house since I had my stitches out two weeks ago. I cannot put weight on my right foot, but can hop and hobble with a walker for a short distance. Now I really understand the emphasis on handicapped accessibility.
I hope soon to be writing about the proper topic for this blog, and get back to gardening in some way before the winter comes and wipes it all away. But that is the joy of gardening, there is always next year.
