| | Tiffin football vs. Northern MichiganOctober 30, 2010 - Zach BakerMostly cloudy, 50s. Should not be a factor. Looking forward to this one. Northern Michigan's Eddie Knoblock intercepts quarterback Jason Young and returns it 50 yards for a score. I don't know if Young didn't see Knoblock, but it was a pretty bad pass. 7-0, NMU. TU is forced to punt on its next possession, but the ball is snapped over his head. TU eventually recovers back at its 10. Two plays later, John Privitelli takes a direct snap 10 yards for another score, making it 14-0. After TU punt, this time without incident, NMU adds a 32-yard field goal from Rockne Belmonte. 17-0 after one quarter. Second Quarter After a bad snap that led to a 29-yard loss, Northern Michigan is forced to punt. Brenton Williams breaks through, blocks the punt, gets up, picks it up and returns it for a touchdown. Brenton is a playmaker. 17-7 (10:35). After another NMU field goal, TU hits a big play to get back into things. Young hits Singleton on a crossing pattern over the middle for a 55-yard score. TU trails, 20-14, and I start thinking about upset-ledes. Sadly, it doesn't last, as NMU pushes across a Phillipe Smith TD with 14 seconds left. The defense has been very good today for the most part, but that's a killer. Halftime. Two unanswered TDs, another Knoblock interception, and it's 43-13 in the final minutes. Some bright spots, but NMU had a strong line on each side that wore down the Dragons. | |
