| | Farewell, NYCNovember 13, 2011 - Jill GoscheThe trip to the Big Apple is coming to a close. Tonight is our last night, and we will head home in the morning. It has been a fantastic trip! I spent the morning with Seneca East's band but ventured off in the afternoon. Dugan Smith, a Fostoria teenager who is a cancer survivor, got to hang out with CC Sabathia, a Yankees pitcher, during a fundraiser scavenger hunt in Central Park. I was so thrilled to get to go along for the ride. I watched CC pitch for the Cleveland Indians not too long ago. His staff was very accommodating and helpful, and he and Dugan are great friends. I am still letting that experience sink in, but I know it was a day I'll never forget. I met back up with Seneca East's band at dinner. We took a group picture in Times Square, which is beautiful at night, and finished the trip with a visit to the top of the Empire State Building. It was a terrific way to end the trip. The trip has been surreal and I'm sad to see it come to an end! Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | |
