TU women vs. Northern Kentucky

December 19, 2011 - Zach Baker
With 7:29 left, Tiffin has overcome a chilly start and trails the Norse just 20-16 with 6:52 left. Holly Focke's layup makes it 20-18. Defense has picked up and the offensive execution has been good against a team that will be D-I next year.

Jaeb's jumper ties it at 20, 4:28 left.

Jaeb has six and the Dragons trail, 23-21 with 2:21 left til half. Casse Mogan makes a pair of foul shots for the Norse to push the advantage back to three. A TU turnover sends NKU's Sadie Bowling back to the line, where she hits back to back foul shots. 27-22 Norse, 1:37 left.

Tiffin trails 31-24 at the half. Tiffin didn't shoot well overall in the first half, making just 8 of 27 shots for a 29.6 percent average. Holly Focke has eight points for TU. Jaimie Hamlet and Mogan have eight points each.

About six minutes into the second half and it looks like the Norse might be starting to pull away. Hamlet made a big 3 and NKU leads, 43-32 at the 13:04 mark. Dragons offense remains chilly.

After a possession where TU missed three point blank shots at the basket, NKU finally rebounds and gets back to the line. Tiffin's shooting isn't getting any better, and time is starting to run out. Norse lead, 45-34. 9:37 left.

Tiffin is now 0 for 9 fro 3-point range. Hanging around, but barely. Down seven to Northern Kentucky with 6:12 left.

Score's the same, 46-39, with 46-39. A Jaeb trey attempt that would have cut the lead to four just rimmed out.

Looks like it's over Norse lead 53-41 with 2:33 left. Dragons still haven't hit a 3, and they're now 0-12.
