Recounts uncover no electoral changes
There were no changes following recounts in three contests from the Nov. 3 election. The Seneca County Board of Elections met Monday to conduct a recount of close races for New Riegel Village Council, Jackson Township trustees and Arcadia Local School District Board of Education. According to the official results, the New Riegel Village Council members are to include Larry R. Bouillon (81 votes), Richard Kessler II (52 votes), Dale D. Nye (67 votes) and Lenny Theis (58 votes). The official results for Jackson Township trustees include Richard A. Findley (187 votes) and Stephen P. Naderer (319 votes). The results for the Arcadia board of education are to be known when Hancock County confirms results there. The district straddles the Hancock-Seneca border. The votes cast in Seneca County showed ties — Eric E. Metcalfe and Mick Recker, four votes, and Corey Boes and Angela Kimble, two votes.

Tiffin OKs ballot issue
Tiffin voters said “yes” Tuesday to a ballot issue that is to make the budgeting process a bit easier for 2011 and years beyond.
The issue was passed by an unofficial count of 2,710 to 1,398 and takes effect in 2011.
