Richard and Ruth Smith of Tiffin are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary today, Sept. 5, 2010. They are having a 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, followed by a family dinner at T.J. Willie's.
The Smiths were married Sept. 5, 1946, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel, by the Rev. George Grevenkamp.
Richard is the son of the late Albert and Martha Smith and is retired from farming.

Ruth is the daughter of the late Lewis and Helen Theis. She is a homemaker.
They are parents of six children, Dennis (Janice) Smith and James (Elaine) Smith of New Riegel and Linda (LeVerne) Burns, Annette (Thomas) Brill, Laura (John) Richey and Steven Smith of Tiffin. Nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren complete the family.
