Special toys from a treasure chest full of treats and brightly colored child- themed rooms might take some of the sting out of the traditional visit to the doctor's office.
A new pediatrician has come to Tiffin: Christian Meade is offering general care for babies through adulthood at his office at 433 W. Market St.
He opened his practice in August after completing his residency through the University of Toledo pediatric residency program. Originally from Madison, east of Cleveland, he wished to begin his practice in a similar small town.

"Ideally, this will be a well-rounded practice offering just about anything families need from birth to adulthood," Meade said. "We really are equipped to offer that, to provide minor surgery, due to our close proximity to the hospital - to provide all-in-one general pediatric care for the area."
The office has three examination rooms, a small lab, office space and a waiting area. The exam rooms are themed - one even has a fire engine exam table, which Meade said is a favorite.
"The general practitioner is a dying breed, yet that is the role I have always seen myself in," Meade said.
There also are a number of pediatric subspecialists at Mercy Hospital Meade has developed a collaboration with to be able to provide specialized referrals if needed.
Meade said the four subspecialists who see patients in the specialty clinic area are William Suarez, pediatric cardiology; Rama Jasty, pediatric hematology/oncology; Mark Naddaf, pediatric gastroenterology; and Ramalinga Reddy, pediatric pulmonology.
Meade is accepting patients. Office hours are 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The office is closed on Wednesday.
