GREEN SPRINGS - A place to relax and be pampered has opened in Green Springs.
LA Hair Design opened at 222 Smith St. in April, offering beauty services from hair styling to manicures, pedicures, massages and facial peels.
Owner Lorrie Garcia, a Clyde native who lives in Fremont, said opening the shop was a lifelong dream.

"I decided to take the leap," she said, noting she had worked at Chicago 29 in Fremont for 16 years. "I saw the building, and the layout was already there for us. We all worked basically in Fremont, and we are not too far from Clyde, Fremont or Tiffin."
The shop employs five stylists and one licensed massage therapist. The shop has been drawing customers from the surrounding area.
One of the more recent additions to the styles offered is called "urban shock," which Garcia said puts color shots through the hair.
"We've had vibrant colors and now there are pastel colors," she said. "It gives a temporary color shine to the hair which lasts from two to three weeks."
The colored sections are particularly popular during football season when students and fans want to put team colors in their hair. Garcia said some women also have come into the shop to request pink in October for breast cancer awareness.
During October, Garcia said LA Design will donate $1 from every service to the Sandusky County United Way. Breast cancer survivors will receive 50 percent off their bill during the month.
Product lines carried by the shop are Matrix and Scruples hair products, skin care and makeup products by T Zone. OPI and Creative nail polishes are offered. For men, Crew and Woody's product lines are available.
