Meeting set to learn about 3D Plan
St. Francis Spirituality Center is planning to offer a 12-week journey to wholeness. An informational meeting about the 3D Plan is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the center. The 3D Plan is a 12-week program for eating right, living well and loving God. The plan helps people to make gradual changes that are positive, practical and proven to become permanent. Conference slated for writers
HOLLAND - Northwest Ohio Christian Writers is hosting its 22nd annual seminar Oct. 30 at Holland Free Methodist Church, 6605 Angola Road, Holland, Ohio. The featured speaker is Dennis E. Hensley, author of more than 50 books and 3,000 periodical articles. Also a judge for numerous writing competitions, he has written stage plays, musicals and film scripts.
The conference runs 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. with four workshops by Hensley and a lunch. The cost is $45 for members and $55 for non-members. The registration deadline is Oct. 23. Expert to speak at St. Joseph
The Spiritual Life Committee at St. Joseph Catholic Church is presenting a series of presentations by Judette Kolasny. "The Gospel Traditions and Jesus" is to run 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Thursday and Oct. 14 and 21. It is to be repeated 7-8:30 p.m. three Sundays, Oct. 10, 17 and 24. The classes are to meet in the Upper Room at 36 Melmore St., Tiffin. The presentations are free.
Bascom church to host guests
BASCOM - Rebecca DeZurik and Scott Mason are to perform at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 17 at Union United Church of Christ, 575 N. Ash St.
Rebecca DeZurik lives in Minnesota and is a full-time musician who travels the country. She is a worship leader, singer, songwriter and speaker.
For the past 15 years, DeZurik has led worship at concerts, retreats, churches, coffee houses and events. She also has been a worship director for various churches in Minnesota, North Carolina and Ohio.

Scott Mason was raised in a suburb of Detroit. Over a 13-year period, Mason became addicted to drugs, alcohol and thievery. His crimes put him in front of 15 judges in 12 different courts.
He was tried and convicted of 36 felonies and spent 10 years in prison over three terms.

Religious education classes starting
Weekday Religious Education is starting its 70th year of providing after-school Bible-based classes with a fall party. Children attending WRE at Krout, Noble, Washington and Lincoln elementary schools as well as Tiffin Middle School are to start the classes with a party that is to include a story, snacks, music and games.
The weekly classes are conducted after school, 2:45-4 p.m. Mondays at Lincoln and Washington, Tuesdays at Noble and Wednesdays at Krout. WRE offers a class at Tiffin Middle School 2:50-3:50 p.m. Mondays.
Classes are to begin Monday. Children can enroll at anytime throughout the year at no cost.

Our Lady of Hope festival Oct. 10
ATTICA - Our Lady of Hope Parish's Octoberfest is 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 10. A dinner is to be in the social hall 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
The outdoor festivities begin at 11 a.m. and end at 5 p.m.
Sign-up for the cornhole tournament begins at 11 a.m. in the east yard of the parish grounds. The tournament is to begin at 1 p.m. The entry fee is $20 per team.
There also is to be a 5K run. Registration is to begin at 3:30 p.m. in the front yard of the parish grounds with the race starting at 4 p.m. Cost is $15 per entry.
Raffle tickets are to be available that day at $1 each, six for $5 or 12 for $10.

Mass upcoming at Heidelberg
There is to be a Catholic Mass at 7 p.m. Oct. 10 at Heidelberg?University. The Rev. Frank Murd is to be the celebrant. Masses for the remainder of the semester are to be Nov. 14 and Dec. 5.
Recker celebrating anniversary
DAYTON- Sister Nancy Recker, formerly Sister M. Rachel, is among a group of Precious Blood Sisters celebrating milestone anniversaries of religious commitment in 2010. Recker is marking her 50th anniversary of entrance into the congregation.
For eight years, from 1998 to 2005, she was director of the dietary department at the motherhouse of the Sisters of St. Francis in Tiffin.
Youth raising funds
Several local youth are going on a mission trip to Baja and are raising funds.
A garage sale to help raise money for the trip starts at 9 a.m. today and noon Sunday. It is at 165 Hudson St., near Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Brown to be at coffeehouse
FOSTORIA - Fostoria Church of God "Coffee House Ministries" is to feature Ruth Brown, a ventriloquist and American Indian flutist Sunday.
The coffeehouse opens at 5 p.m. and is to operate throughout the evening. The performance begins at 6 p.m.
The coffeehouse is located at 122-124 W. Tiffin St. and hosts "Coffee House Ministries" on the first and third Sunday of each month.

Conference to discuss Israel/Palestine
Tiffin Area Pax Christi is hosting a one-day conference called "Israel/Palestine: Pathways to Peace," 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at Elizabeth Schaefer Auditorium, 190 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin.
