BOWLING GREEN - Farmers interested in learning more about organic food are invited to attend "Organics 101: An Introduction to Organic Crop Production" 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 10.
Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association, a non-profit education organization, and the Ohio State University Organic Food and Farming Education and Research program, a nationally recognized leader in organic farming research, are sponsoring the workshop to take place at Agricultural Incubator Foundation, 13737 Middleton Pike, Bowling Green.
The program is to include presentations by OSU research scientists and Extension educators, organic farmers and organic certification representatives.
Participants are to learn about the organic certification standard, certification process, organic crop production practices, the economics of organic crop production, and marketing opportunities.
University scientists and experienced organic farmers are to lead sessions and are to answer questions.
