Discolored water in Ohio town safe for drinking

June 19, 2014
dsp Associated Press

CANAL WINCHESTER, Ohio (AP) — City officials say Canal Winchester water customers may notice their water is discolored or cloudy, but that it is safe for drinking and bathing.

Officials said Wednesday an additional high pressure pump was turned on at the water plant during a power outage, causing an increased flow of water into the system. This caused some particles to break lose and appear in water going to homes and businesses.

The discoloration or cloudiness is temporary and should disappear on its own. Running a faucet also will help restore water clarity.
