January 23, 2011
The Advertiser-Tribune

WSOS Community Action Commission has established 17 sites for residents who earned less than $60,000 in 2010 to file income taxes for free.

Feb. 1 to April 18, residents who earned up to $60,000 may file federal and state tax returns, claim the earned income tax credit and child tax credit for free with the assistance of a trained counselor.

Taxpayers who choose to e-file may get refunds in as few as seven days.

Residents should bring government-issued identification; Social Security numbers for all members of the household, even if they had no income; W-2 forms, 1099 or 1098 forms; and all information regarding other income, including alimony and child support, deduction and credit information, any estate, retirement or tuition revenues or expenses, and 2009 income tax returns.

Also needed at the time of filing are bank routing and account numbers for refunds.

All information is confidential. This service is provided through the Ohio Benefit Bank operated by WSOS.
