A former athlete described as a Dayton and Ohio legend is to speak during Tiffin University's next Good Morning World breakfast lecture.
Bill Hosket, an Ohio high school basketball player of the year and an All American at Ohio State University, is to deliver "Positive Values = Success" Feb. 17.
Michael Grandillo, TU's vice president for development and public affairs, said Speakers Unlimited sometimes helps TU identify speakers, which is how Hosket's Good Morning World speaking engagement was arranged. Also, he knew about Hosket because they both grew up in Dayton.

"He's a Dayton legend as well as an Ohio legend," he said.
Grandillo said former athletes are popular speakers for Good Morning World. Hosket is going to speak about success, values and maintaining a positive attitude, he said.
He said Hosket is a good fit for Good Morning World because he is a good speaker, has a fantastic background and has experienced success on and off the basketball court. Hosket is an Olympic gold medalist and NBA champion who was known throughout Ohio in the 1960s and 1970s as one of its great basketball players, he said.

All breakfast lectures take place at Camden Falls, 2460 S. SR 231, Tiffin. Breakfast is served buffet style at 7:30 a.m., the speaker presents at 8 a.m. and the event concludes by 8:50 a.m. The cost is $9. To make a reservation, call (419) 448-3282.
"People have really enjoyed his message in the past," he said.
Hosket was named a member of the Ohio State all-century basketball team in 2001. He is a partner in an insurance agency and has been a television analyst for Big 10 basketball, according to information from TU.
He has served on the USA Olympic Basketball Committee, is a member Ohio State's athletic hall of fame and is a board member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association Foundation, the information states.
