DELAWARE - Heidelberg University's Josh Bowmar capped his junior year with a pair of All-American honors Saturday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Ohio Wesleyan in Delaware.

Bowmar captured sixth in the javelin by bettering his own school record with a toss of 204-5. He is Heidelberg's first national qualifier in the javelin and the school's 15th individual All-American.

He later led off Heidelberg's 4 x 400 team, which ended eighth (3:14.64). Student Princes Seth Robertson, Joe Yoder and Terrence Horton rounded out the relay.

Miller vaults to seventh

TURLOCK, Calif. - Tiffin University pole vaulter Lee Miller claimed seventh Saturday at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Cal State Stanislaus.

The junior, a Bellevue graduate, cleared 16-2 to gain All-American status.

"He's definitely somebody who steps up in big competition," TU coach Jeremy Croy said of Miller, He just missed 16-7 in his last two attempts. He took some great stabs at it."

Croy said the event was held in a steady rain, making things difficult.
