Erika Louise Platt and Mircea Handru were united in marriage at noon Sunday, June 19, 2011, at Dumbrava Monastery in Dumbrava, Alba, Romania. Archimandrite Vasile Crisan was officiant during the double-ring ceremony.
Erika is the daughter of Jerry and Susan Platt of Fostoria. She is a 2003 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School and a 2006 graduate of Heidelberg College with a degree in communication studies. She is a staff writer at The Advertiser-Tribune.
She was given in marriage by her father and godparents, Csaba Racz and Judit Jonas.
Mircea is the son of Vasile and Adriana Handru of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He is a 2002 graduate of Liceul Sportiv Satu-Mare, a 2007 graduate of Tiffin University with a bachelor's degree in business administration and a 2011 graduate of Tiffin University with a master's degree in sports management. He is employed as assistant men's soccer coach at Tiffin University.
Following a honeymoon trip to Doda Pilii, Apuseni Mountains, Romania, the newlyweds reside in Tiffin.
