FREMONT - Tomatoes and hot peppers are on the menu for this year's Northern Ohio Vegetable Crops Field Night 6-8 p.m. Aug. 3 at the North Central Agricultural Research Station, 1165 CR 43, Fremont.
Topics and research projects to be discussed at the free event include tomato varieties for healthy tomato products, cell sizes for tomato transplants, tomato and pepper fungicide trials, a new pepper variety trial and crop pest management project results.
Speakers include Sally Miller, department of plant pathology, Ohio State University's Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center and OSU Extension; David Francis, department of horticulture and crop science, OARDC; Mark Bennett, department of horticulture and crop science, OARDC and OSU Extension; Elaine Grassbaugh, department of horticulture and crop science, OARDC; and Leona Horst, U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service.
