CLEVELAND HEIGHTS - No late-game heroics were needed this week.
Zach Miller sandwiched three touchdown passes around two TD runs and St. Wendelin fared better in the mud Saturday as the Mohawks slogged past Lutheran East, 36-6.
The road win came after the Mohawks' previous two games were decided in the final 20 seconds.
"Nice day, beautiful day, sunny, 75 degrees, but the field was just chopped up and got worse as the day went on," St. Wendelin coach Bill Hrabak said after his team won its second in a row.
"We were really pleased, because [lineman] Alex Galvan couldn't play this week because his brother was getting married this week. We had some kids step up. Brent Williams actually played some offensive line ... and Austin Reinhart wasn't 100 percent.
"We were down Galvan and a healthy Reinhart, so I give credit to the other guys," he said. "We were able to shift around."
