Martin and Carol Hammer celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Sept. 10, 2011, with a Mass at All Saints Parish, New Riegel, and a reception at their home.
The Hammers were married Sept. 11, 1971, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. John Shanahan officiating.
They are the parents of two children, Amy (Steve) Dryfuse and Denise Seifert. Completing their family are five grandchildren.

Mrs. Hammer is the daughter of the late Pete and Marie (Saibeni) Kuhn. She works at Calvert Elementary.
Mr. Hammer is the son of the late Frank and Clara (Schalk) Hammer and is retired from Whirlpool Corp.
