A CROP Hunger Walk is planned for Nov. 6 in Tiffin. Registration is to begin at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 96 S. Monroe St. The walk is to step off at 1:30 p.m.
Since 1969, millions of walkers have participated in Christian Rural Overseas Program efforts to feed God's people. Through Church World Service, refugees get bags of rice, villages with muddy ponds get new water wells, and hunger is prevented with better livestock, tree plantings and other improved practices.
Donors can direct dollars to their favorite charity, including the United Methodist Committee on Relief, Lutheran World Relief, Catholic Relief Services or the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. Several churches and Heidelberg and Tiffin universities are to participate in the walk around the center of Tiffin.

This year, participants can order T-shirts with "Ending Hunger, one step at a time" on the front and other items that cost $5-$7 plus shipping, depending on how many are ordered together (www.ubpideas.com/cws.htm). Shirts, tote bags and hats can be ordered to sell.
Orders should be placed with Pam Easterday by Oct. 19. She can be reached by email at revpameasterday@gmail.com or by calling (419) 447-4372.
Those who cannot walk can help by driving the escort vehicles, handing out water and apples and writing checks. Youth groups and students needing service hours are encouraged to participate. Volunteers are needed to escort children for the 5K trek (just over three miles). Twenty-five percent of every CROP donation stays in Tiffin with local hunger organizations.
