FOSTORIA - Volunteers are needed for the backpack program at Fostoria Food Connection. The program provides 550 food-filled backpacks for Fostoria students in grades 3-6 to take home for the weekend. Help is needed on four days during the week.
Monday, 9 a.m., at the school to collect and pack up empty backpacks.
Tuesday, 10 a.m., at the YMCA to sanitize the backpacks.
Thursday, 5:30 p.m., at the YMCA to fill backpacks with food. School-age children are welcome to help their parents.
Friday, 1 p.m., to transport the backpacks to the school. Heavy lifting is required.
