A northern Ohio scuba diving club, Bay Area Divers Inc., plans to host the 28th annual Shipwrecks and Scuba Banquet Nov. 19 at Sawmill Creek Resort in Huron.
The scuba conference is to feature "Blackbeard, the Pirate's Flagship - Queen Anne's Revenge," presented by the project archeologist-dive master Chris Southerly. The conference also is to feature stories about shipwrecks in the Great Lakes by videographer Ric Mixter.
Mixter's "The Wheelsman" is to be shown; it relates the stories of four shipwrecks through the eyes of men who were at the helm when the ship went down.
A Shipwrecks Symposium consists of an evening banquet with guest speakers as well as a morning workshop and afternoon maritime seminars.
