By Nick Dutro - Staff Writer (ndutro@advertiser-tribune.com) , The Advertiser-Tribune

A new restaurant is to open today in a space that was once a Tiffin staple.

Hunan King Chinese Restaurant opens in the former Marvin's Deli building, 253 S. Washington St. Marvin's closed in 2007.

The new restaurant is the 10th opened in the past five years by Jin and son Jay Zheng, who say they have more than 20 years of restaurant experience. Many of those restaurants remain in operation around the country in Minnesota, New York, Georgia and a location in Vermillion.

Hunan King, located at the former Marvin’s Deli, 253 S. Washington St., features a newly remodeled interior with space for patrons looking for a dine-in experience.

The restaurant will feature Hunan, Szechuan and Cantonese cuisine, what people may find in the Chinatown district in New York, Jay said.

Jay said house specialties are to include General Tso's chicken and teriyaki chicken. Hunan King also offers bubble tea and frostees in a variety of fruit flavors.

He said dishes have no MSG and are cooked with vegetable oil.
