Bob Evans planning to reopen today

November 21, 2011

Bob Evans Family Restaurant customers soon may experience the down-home cooking they love in an updated, enhanced atmosphere at the Tiffin location.

Dawn Tyree, general manager of Tiffin's Bob Evans, said the restaurant closed Nov. 13 at 8 p.m. for an extensive remodel and was expected to re-open at 6 a.m. today. The building has been "refreshed," said Tyree, with a whole new look outside and inside.

The entire interior has been gutted, she said, and will feature lighter colors, a mural of the Bob Evans' farm, and more open seating and dining areas.

Tihomor Nedovic, of Paintech Co. of Detroit, paints the soffit at the Bob Evans restaurant on West Market Street in Tiffin Thursday. The restaurant was to reopen at 6 a.m. today.

"It's definitely up-to-date," Tyree said, "It's beautiful."

Servers at the restaurant are to have new uniforms to match the updated atmosphere when the remodel is finished.

The restaurant will not offer a full bakery like some of Bob Evans larger locations, but will offer a couple of new products, including cinnamon blossoms and chocolate chunk and M&M cookies. No changes to the menu have been made, Tyree said.

She also said a couple of additional seats have been added for customers due to the changes in the interior, and she has been able to add a couple of staff members in anticipation of increased business.

The retail area of the restaurant, Tyree said, has been made slightly smaller, but the carryout and curbside services offered by the Tiffin's Bob Evans have been enhanced.

"We're making it better and bigger," she said, and that improving those services will increase convenience for Bob Evans customers.

Tyree said by opening the location today, the restaurant will "definitely be ready to feed everyone by Thanksgiving."

While the dining room isn't open on the holiday, Thanksgiving dinners can be ordered and picked up through Wednesday, complete with re-heating instructions.

Tyree has sent out marketing teams with coupons and special offers to celebrate the restaurant's grand reopening.

"I'm very excited about serving everyone," Tyree said.
