For the second year, one local company has decided to give back during the holidays in a big way.
Beginning Thursday, Level Up, a new and used video game store, is to hold a second Games for Grub promotion with all profits to be donated to local food banks and soup kitchens.
"I'm thankful for how blessed I have been and I would like to pass that on," said owner Tom Hayes.
The promotion runs through Dec. 7 at the location in Tiffin, 59 E. Market St., and Bellevue, 121 E. Main St.
Hayes said last year, the promotion raised more than $5,000 for Fish & Loaves, The Salvation Army, Fish Food Pantry, St. Paul's Sharing Kitchen and First Call for Help. He said he would like to increase the contribution this year.
Level Up features new and used video games, DVDs and CDs, game systems and skateboards. The store has a trade-in system in which customers can bring in old games for money or store credit.
