The school district is to see yet another new superintendent step into the administrative position, the second in three years.
Current Superintendent Steve Pritts said he is to retire in August next year.
Pritts was hired the Fostoria School District in June 2010. Previously he was employed as superintendent for the Elmwood School District. After working with Elmwood for five years he signed a three-year contract with Fostoria City Schools for $110,000 per year.
In other news, during the board's organizational meeting Sharon Stannard was elected president with former president Thomas Guernsey to take the vice-president post.
Regular board meetings were scheduled for 6 p.m. the third Monday of each month, except for February.
Treasurer Jaime Pearson presented the district's budget. She said she hopes to have a $2.2 million carryover by July 1 of next year. The budget must be submitted to the county auditor's office by Jan. 20.
Board members are to meet next at 6 p.m. Feb. 21.
