ATTICA - Seneca East Superintendent Michael Wank took an opportunity to discuss the partnership between Seneca East School District and Tiffin Community YMCA as well as the ongoing orientation process in his report during the district's Monday night meeting.
In her report, high school Principal Judy Watson said she has been assisting other principals and athletic directors in developing a constitution and operating procedures for the new Northern 10 Athletic Conference. She also announced the spring musical is to be Peter Pan.
Newly elected members Steve Bridgford, Valerie Phillips and Steve Albright were sworn in while Jaimie Beamer and Larry Lucius were elected president and vice president, respectively.
Committee chairs were selected and included farm, Larry Lucius; legislative and Vanguard-Sentinel Career and Technology Centers, Jaime Beamer; finance/audit, Steve Bridgford, Larry Lucius; and labor/management, Steve Albright and Valerie Phillips.
In other news, the board passed:
A resolution setting the board service fee at $2 per student.
A resolution selecting Wank and Watson as purchasing and substitute purchasing agents, respectively.
A resolution to set 2012 board meetings for 7 p.m. the third Monday of each month.
A resolution authorizing the treasurer to seek and collect advances on local tax money as needed and as available.
A resolution authorizing the treasurer to pay bills as they are due and to fulfill all contractual obligations.
A resolution authorizing the treasurer to invest funds as available and to place all interest from investments into General Fund - except for Farm Fund, Heartland Scholarship Fund, Technology Fund and Replacement Fund - with interest from the investment of these funds going back to each, respectively.
The board also:
Accepted the amounts and rates as determined by budget commission and certifying to and authorizing county auditor to collect necessary levies on the duplicate.
Approved Seneca East Course of Study for next school year.
Heard the varsity football team was named an Academic All-Ohio team this year.
Heard Nate Waldock earned Academic All-Ohio.
The board is to meet next at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 at the board office.
