BASCOM - Prior to Wednesday's regular meeting, Hopewell-Loudon board members conducted their annual organizational meeting and budget hearing.
The 2013 tax budget shows a general fund of $7,812,640, which is in agreement with the five-year forecast.
The leadership of the board is to continue with Linda Depinet as president and Greg Siebenaller as vice president. Last year's committee assignments are to continue into this year. The board also is to continue to meet on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the distance learning lab.
Superintendent Geoff Palmer praised the community and various agencies that provided assistance to the family who suffered a house fire earlier this week. Donations for the family may be dropped off at the school office. A fund has been established for the family at First Federal Banks in Fostoria.
The elementary school's Parent Teacher Organization is to sponsor a free Family Movie Night tonight.
The building project manager from Touchstone provided an update on the new school construction. Despite losing 20 percent of workdays due to inclement weather, it was reported the project remains on schedule.
The board accepted a donation of travel bags for the boys' basketball team from Athletic Boosters.
Supplemental contracts were approved for:
Jason Biller, junior high boys track.
Doug Brickner, varsity boys track.
Helen Coleman, assistant boys track.
Paul Jones, assistant girls track.
David Long, assistant junior high track.
The board adjourned to executive session to discuss negotiations and evaluation of personnel.
