PCCW Teleservices is closing its telemarketing office in the Tiffin Mall, according to unconfirmed reports.
A source, who wished to remain anonymous, said the office is to close in about two months. The source estimated about 150 people work there.
According to an article published in The Advertiser-Tribune, the company employed about 200 people last February. The business, then called Influent, has since merged with PCCW Teleservices.
Last year, the business expanded its mall presence. Clients of the telemarketer include some Fortune 500 businesses.
While most of the focus at the Tiffin office has been insurance-related, during election season, political parties around the country employ PCCW to gather support. Other companies seeking opinions on a product or service rely on Influent employees to conduct surveys.
Attempts to contact PCCW Wednesday evening were unsuccessful.
