Hats off

Precaution was proper

Traffic patterns were interrupted Thursday in downtown Tiffin as drivers were redirected due to demolition of the tallest part of the 1884 courthouse, the clock tower.

The street closure was prompted by concerns for safety. As it turned out, the tower was razed without incident, but the decision to divert traffic nonetheless was a prudent precaution. Any inconvenience that closure created for drivers was a reminder how fortunate area residents are to live where such delays are rare.
