Conservation district selling tree seed packets

February 10, 2012
The Advertiser-Tribune

Seneca Soil and Water Conservation District's annual Tree Packet Program is under way.

The program is designed to meet a specific need of individuals for a small number of seedlings for erosion control, windbreaks, reforestation, wildlife benefits, and for a safer and more beautiful environment.

The district has ordered a variety of seedlings, some are limited, so prompt orders are encouraged. Order deadline is April 6. Payment must accompany each order.

Although SWCD orders hardy stock, survival rates cannot be guaranteed.

Tree seedlings will be distributed noon-6 p.m. April 19 and 7 a.m.-noon April 20.

Order forms are available at www.senecaswcd.com or at the office, 3140 S. SR 100, Suite D. For more information, call (419) 447-7073.
