Join researcher Tom Kashmer for bird feeder banding programs at 8 a.m. March 3, 17 and 31. Meet at the park office and travel to private property around the marshes of Sandusky Bay.

In indoor comfort, participants can view a "window on wildlife" and learn about bird banding research as they watch the process up close.

The office is at 1970 Countryside Place, Fremont, in the county office complex. Registration is required by calling (419) 638-1027.

To participate in a "Yo-Yo Quilting" class March 3 or March 20, bring red, green or brown fabric scraps (plain or prints), matching thread and scissors to help make an apple-themed fundraising quilt. No previous quilting experience is needed and no registration is required.

The March 3 session is 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Creek Bend Farm, Lindsey, and the March 20 session is at 4 p.m. at White Star Park Log Cabin, Gibsonburg.

Marsh birds are the topic of discussion noon-2 p.m. March 8 at Blue Heron Reserve, 2134 CR 260, Vickery.

Dress for the weather and walking the boardwalk to watch birds establish breeding territories. Bring binoculars and cameras. No registration is required.
