Tiffin model seeks votes

Katie Klepper, daughter of Karen and Mike Klepper of Tiffin, is competing in Maurice's Main Street Model Search. People can vote for her online at www.mauricesmainstreetmodel.com/

To vote, type "Kate Klepper" into the search on this link.

If Klepper receives the most votes, the prize is a donation of $7,500 to her favorite charity. She has chosen Patchworks House in Tiffin.

Individuals may vote once every 24 hours through March 19.

Fundraiser at Bob Evans

to benefit local cancer society

The American Cancer Society is to receive 15 percent of sales at Bob Evans restaurant in Tiffin 9 a.m.-9 p.m. March 12. Patrons must present a flier with their purchases of dine-in or carry-out orders.

TAG trip tickets remain

Seats are still available for Tiffin Art Guild's motorcoach trip to New York April 26-30. The cost of $999 (double occupancy) includes transportation; four nights of lodging; professional guide service for sightseeing; stops at three art museums; a dinner cruise on World Yacht; four continental breakfast buffets; a dinner at Garage and Cafe Nicole; admissions to Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island Ferry/Top of the Rock; one group ticket to a Broadway production (to be determined); and all applicable taxes and tips, including baggage handling for one bag per person.

Discounts are to be offered for triple and quadruple occupancy. The cost is the same for non-members and members.

JB Tours of Fostoria is handling arrangements. A deposit of $20 is needed to reserve a seat. The balance is due 30 days prior to the trip.

Raffle awards family history

The Seneca County Genealogical Society is offering another raffle to win a search of one's family history. The group is selling tickets for $5 each, six for $25 or 10 for $40 through June 1.

The drawing is June 5, and the winner will have his family heritage researched by members of the genealogical society. They will present their findings at a meeting Oct. 2.

The winner also is to receive a notebook with data and photographs gathered by the researchers. To buy tickets or receive more information, call Jerry and Bev at (419) 447-9628.

Annual church festival

to add arts and crafts show

St. Mary Festival is adding a craft show 11 a.m.-6 p.m. June 3 in conjunction with its annual festival, and local vendors are invited to participate.

Only handcrafted products will be permitted. Booth space is 10 by 10 feet inside the school building and 12 by 12 feet outside along the perimeter of the school. Spaces will be assigned in order of payment received.

Cost is $35 per space outdoors and $50 per space indoors. For more details, contact Tiffany at (419) 447-2087.

Maple Fest this weekend

REPUBLIC - The annual Maple Fest is to be conducted 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday at Snavely's Sugar Shack, E. TR 138, Republic.

Watch maple-syrup making and maple candy-making. Walk or ride the Maple Fest Express back to the camp. Enjoy tasting fresh syrup with pancakes, sausage, ice cream and refreshments.

Admission is $7 for adults, $4 for children 6-12 years old and free for children 5 and younger.

Hospice classes forming

Community Hospice Care is to start spring volunteer training classes March 19; they will run 1:30-4 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays through April 9 at CHC's office, 181 E. Perry St.

Hospice is looking for volunteers in the Tiffin, Attica, Fostoria and Willard areas. Volunteers can assist with patient care, death vigil volunteers, fundraising, office duties, courier (running errands for the office), volunteer beauticians and pet therapy.

Photography show to begin

FINDLAY - The Findlay Art League is to open its 30th annual juried photography show with a reception for the photographers 7-9 p.m. Friday in the FAL Gallery, 117 W. Crawford St., Findlay.

Gallery hours for the show are 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The show closes March 30.

MDA shamrocks available

The annual Muscular Dystrophy Association's Shamrocks Against Dystrophy campaign has begun its 30th year at supermarkets, convenience stores and other businesses, where partons can purchase a green shamrock for $1 or a gold one for $5.

The program is to run through March 17 in most locations or until the end of March in others.

All money raised from the shamrocks is to stay with local patients in need of clinic appointments, support groups, vaccinations and summer camps for children 6-17 years of age.

Participating businesses include Burger King, Jiffy Lube, Kroger, Lowe's, Bob Evans and Pizza Hut.
