Ashley Kathleen Rowland and John Michael Ruffing were united in marriage at
1 p.m. Sept. 17, 2011, at St. Gaspar del Bufalo Catholic Church, rural Bellevue. The Rev. John Miller was officiant during the double-ring Catholic nuptial Mass. A reception followed at the VFW, Bellevue.
Ashley is the daughter of Mark and Jan Rowland of Bellevue.

John is the son of Norman and Barb Ruffing of Attica.
Ashley, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory strapless gown with a rounded, dropped waistline. The gown featured beaded lace paisley motifs that adorned the lower part of the bodice, hemline and the semi-cathedral length train.
Abbey Rowland and Amy Rowland of Bellevue served as maids of honor for their sister. Bridesmaids were Becky Schoewe and Nicole Schwanger of Sandusky and friends of the bride; Sandra Ruffing of Attica and Monica Ashbrook of Johnstown, sisters of the groom; and Erika Heuser of Monroeville, friend of the bride. They wore cinnamon-colored dresses with ivory streamers and back bows as accents.
Flower girls were Lydia and Ellery Ruffing of Attica, cousins of the groom.
Jeff Ross of Bellevue served as his friend's best man. Groomsmen were Jeff Smith and Brandon Smith of Bellevue, cousins of the groom; Nick Ashbrook of Johnstown, brother-in-law of the groom; Matt Rowland of Bellevue, brother of the bride; and Kevin Scherely of Bellevue and Brian Heibertshausen of Republic, friends of the groom.
Ashley is a 2004 graduate of Bellevue High School and a 2008 graduate of Bowling Green State University's Firelands campus. She is a respiratory therapist.
John is a 2005 graduate of Seneca East High School and works as a farmer.
The bridesmaids hosted a casual bridal shower July 10, 2011, and the bride's sisters hosted another casual bridal shower July 17, 2011.
The couple has planned a honeymoon trip for this summer. They reside at 14464 CR 46, Bellevue.
