The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging Inc., in conjunction with the Richland County Youth and Family Council and the Ohio Respite Coalition, is to host the North Central Ohio Regional Respite Summit next week.
The event is planned for 12:30-3:30 p.m. March 28 at The James Kehoe Center for Advanced Learning, 175
Mansfield Ave., Shelby.
The summit is an education and sharing event to address respite needs in the nine-county region covered by District 5.
"Respite" is defined as short-term, temporary relief to those who are caring for family members who might otherwise require permanent placement outside the home. Parents, family caregivers, respite providers community groups and agencies serving those with developmental disabilities, chronic illness, aging, mental health conditions and the like are invited to attend and participate.
The event is free.
