Wind down the week with jazz

Tonight and every Thursday night from 7-8:30 p.m., a Heidelberg University jazz group is to entertain at Bailiwicks Coffee Co., 62 S. Washington St., Tiffin. The shop's regular hours are 6:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday.

Church to host Heidelberg symphonic orchestra concert

The Heidelberg University Symphonic Orchestra is to give its spring concert at 8 p.m. Friday at Trinity United Church of Christ, 131 E. Perry St., Tiffin. Under the direction of Barbara Specht, 31 musicians from Tiffin, Fremont and northwest Ohio are to perform works by Gabriel Faure, J.C. Bach, G. Rossini, Beethoven, C.M. von Weber, Antonin Dvorak and G.F. Handel. Student clarinet soloist Brittany Green of Howell, Mich., is to be featured on "Concerto No. 1 for Clarinet and Orchestra" by Carl Maria von Weber. Admission is free.

Dance concert to celebrate 'abunDANCE' Saturday

The resident dance company of The Ritz Theatre, trideaDANCE, is to present its sixth annual performance, "abunDANCE," at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. In addition to local dancers from Tiffin and Findlay, the concert is to feature special guest performances by Antaeus Dance Company of Cleveland and The Findlay Academy of Ballet.

Kathy Miller of Tiffin and Marissa Glorioso of Cleveland, co-founders of trideaDANCE, created compositions for the concert. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Choir to give home concert

The Heidelberg University Concert Choir is to present its annual home concert, "To Everything There is a Season," at 3 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The mixed choral ensemble is comprised of 31 Heidelberg students. Greg Ramsdell directs the choir with his wife, Cynthia Ramsdell, as accompanist. The concert is free.

Rock Shock 2012 coming to TU

Tiffin University's Concert Production Team is to host the annual Rock Shock Concert 1-7 p.m. Saturday at the Jackson Street cul-de-sac on T.U. campus. Featured bands include Ebins Flow, The Farther I Fall and Let It Happen. Also featured will be Tiffin University's Sound & Silence, The InBetween, Higher Ground and Up in the Air. This outdoor event also includes games, raffles a cornhole tournament and other activities. Admission is free.

Barbershop singers mark half-century of music Saturday

FOSTORIA - At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, The Fostoria Lake Plains Barbershop Chorus and chapter quartets are to celebrate and present their 50th annual show at the Fostoria High School Performing Arts Center. The guest quartets are to be the 1975 international champion, Happiness Emporium, and the 2007 international champion, Max Q. Tickets are $12 in advance and and $14 at the door. Tickets can be obtained by calling ticket chairman Bob Manz at (419) 927-4490.

Singing Collegians prepare for spring concert May 5

The Heidelberg University Singing Collegians, a chamber vocal ensemble, is to present its annual home concert at 8 p.m. May 5 in Ohl Concert Hall. Under the direction of Greg Ramsdell, the ensemble is to present a repertoire drawn from the Broadway, Hollywood and popular music traditions, bringing them to life through singing and choreography. This year's program is to include "Nothing Can Stop Me Now" from "The Roar of the Greasepaint The Smell of the Crowd;" "Everybody Rejoice" from "The Wiz;" "Lollipop," "Notice Me, Horton" and "Solla Sollew" from "Seussical: The Musical;" "A Little Fall of Rain" from "Les Miserables;" "The Varsity Drag;" and "Footloose."

The concert is free.

One more weekend for 'Titanic'

FINDLAY - The final four performances of "Titanic" are set for 8 p.m. today through Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday at Fort Findlay Playhouse, 300 W. Sandusky St., Findlay. Tickets are $15. For more details, call (419) 422-4624.
