The Advertiser-Tribune

A compost workshop is scheduled for May 31 at Riehm Farm, 7224 N. SR 53, a fourth-generation Century Farm owned and operated by John and Diane Riehm.

Two sessions of the workshop, sponsored by Riehms, Sandusky County Park District, Ottawa-Sandusky-Seneca Joint Solid Waste Management District and Ottawa County Soil and Water Conservation District, are planned at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

The workshop is to show participants how composting

yard waste, food scraps and other organic materials can be used to create a nutrient-rich soil conditioner.

Advanced registration by May 30 is required because of limited space. Fee is $5.

The annual workshop rotates around the three OSS counties, and is open to residents of the three counties, as well as residents of Fostoria and Bellevue.

To register or for more information, call (419) 334-4495.
