Villages and cities in Seneca County have scheduled events for residents to partake in this weekend as part of Memorial Day.
Tiffin
A Memorial Day parade is to begin at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, proceed north on Washington Street and stop at the new flagpoles in front of the former courthouse while a flag is raised and lowered to half staff.
After the parade, a ceremony is to take place at Frost Parkway. Then, a groundbreaking for the All Patriots Memorial is to begin immediately following, around 11:30 a.m., at North Washington and and Water streets. The event also includes a fundraiser lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Current donations total $104,000.
Fostoria
A Memorial Day ceremony is planned for 10 a.m. at Fountain Cemetery.
Attica
A Memorial Day parade is to begin at the American Legion building and end with a service at the cemetery.
Bettsville
H.P. Eells Park is to open temporarily Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with swimming from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Green Springs
Saturday morning, the fourth annual Lance Cpl. Jeremy Shock Memorial Softball Tournament is to take place at the Green Springs Community Park. Sunday a parade is to be at 2:30 p.m. and service is to conclude at the cemetery at 3 p.m.
Republic
A parade beginning at the American Legion post is to step off at 9 a.m. Monday, marching to the Farewell Retreat Cemetery.
