Music, art on tap at park

The first Tiffin Music and Art Festival is to run 10 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Sunday at Hedges-Boyer Park.

Clark's Cape and more than 40 local bands are to perform on two stages Saturday. Vendors with food, arts and crafts are to be set up both days. Bleachers are available near the pavilion.

There is no required admission charge to attend the festival. A $5 donation is suggested, or non-perishable food donations, or the purchase of 50/50 raffle tickets to benefit Project TESFA, The Sharing Kitchen and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

The music continues ...

Those who can't get enough music at the Tiffin Music and Art Festival can stay a little longer at Hedges-Boyer Park to hear the North Coast Concert Band at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is free.

Memorial parade Sunday

BASCOM - Bascom Lions Club is to sponsor the 47th annual Memorial Parade at 2 p.m. Sunday in Bascom.

Prior to the parade, club members are to prepare a chicken and pork chop barbecue 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Evergreen Shelter at Meadowbrook Park. A 50/50 drawing also is planned.

Memorial services at Sandridge Cemetery are set for 1:15 p.m., with guest speaker Shane Parsons.

Guitarist from Hell to play

Blues/rock guitarist and vocalist Michael Katon is to perform 8 p.m. Friday at The Strand Concert Theatre in Fremont.

Katon, from Hell, Mich., has released 12 albums between 1984 and 2008.

The doors open at 7 p.m. for those age 21 and older. Admission is $10 for this BYOB event.

The theater is located at 220 S. Front St., Fremont.

Art-See-Mart returning

FINDLAY - The Gaslight Gallery Artist Cooperative is sponsoring the second annual Summer Art-See-Mart in downtown Findlay. This open-air artist market is located along Crawford Street.

Last year, artists sold paintings, prints, photography, pottery, jewelry, unique and over-sized hulu hoops, fiber and glass creations, and paper products. This year sales have been expanded to include baked goods, handmade children's clothing and more.

Saturday market dates for Art-See-Mart this summer are June 2, 9, 16 and 23; July 14 and 28; Aug. 11 and 25; and Sept. 8 and 22.

Comedy cast announced

Nancy Betz is to direct "Messiah on the Frigidaire" July 13, 14, 21 and 22.

The cast for this Ritz Players comedy includes Mandy Wolber, Jason Jerisha, Ashley Hushour, Rick Frederick and Lukas Frey.
