Cast members from Bellevue Society for the Arts' recent production of "An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein" picked up awards at the Northwest Ohio Community Theatre Association regional festival earlier this month.
Anthony Gardner of Bellevue directed "An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein," which was a collection of one-act plays. The award winners included:
David Ailing (Bellevue), merit in acting for "Blind Willie and the Talking Dog."
Ben Archer (Clyde), excellence in acting for "Blind Willie and the Talking Dog."
Nicholas Ollervides (Clyde), merit in acting for "Bus Stop."
The festival also selected participants for the annual state conference in Columbus in September.
Those participants include:
The Ritz Players, Tiffin, and its production of "Doubt, A Parable."
The Fort Defiance Players, Defiance, and its production of "Souvenir."
3B Productions, Holland, and its production of "Rent."
Fremont Community Theatre's production, "Out of Sterno," was selected as an alternate.
The Ohio Community Theatre Association provides support to community theaters through workshops, conferences and other events.
