Bark Park good thing for Tiffin
The dog park to be constructed at Hedges-Boyer Park in Tiffin will be more than a fences-in area for dogs to roam off-leash.
The facility, dubbed "Bark Park" by Keith Hodkinson, one of the organizers, would be the largest in the area. Hodkinson envisions a fetching fairway, agility equipment, benches and trees.
"I foresee there being a small dog area, a walking path and a pond with a beach," he said.
All of the work is to be paid for by donations and grants. So far, more than 50 area businesses have contributed. A membership fee also is being considered to maintain the park.
But the Bark Park isn't just for dogs. Owners also will be able to socialize as their pets exercise and, well, socialize. This would be good for the community, and improve the quality of life in the Tiffin area. It is another piece in building a better Tiffin tomorrow.
